Theatre slam

From 2010 - 2012 Trudi founded and produced Theatre Slam in Melbourne. The first of it's kind in Melbourne, Theatre Slam was a monthly scratch night event for Melbourne performers to explore monologues, duologues or circus performances in a 5 minute performance slot.
With monthly prizes and a panel of industry judges, actors were given a space to try new material, add new writing or develop their performance skills. Running over 2 years in 2 different venues in Melbourne CBD, Theatre slam included an annual fringe taster and became a staple performance space and networking opportunity for the Melbourne Arts Community.

In company theatre

From 2009 - 2012 Trudi was the co-artistic director of In Company Theatre. Founded with Daniel Brennan and Nick Kneller, In Company was responsible for the success of 11 theatre productions including an EU tour of 'The Day in the Death of Joe Egg' and the highly acclaimed Off Cut Festival.
The Off Cut Festival, London's premier short play festival ran for 4 years. Initially a short play competition where the audience voted and the finalists performed before a panel of professionals including playwright Moira Buffini, performer Patricia Hobbs and literary agents, the Off Cut Festival moved to the Off West End venue Riverside Studios before its new stream lined festival took place in Theatre 503 in 2012. During this time over 1000 plays were entered and over 400 actors auditioned.
